Shaving
Cats generally do not require a shave as this would be taking away their natural protection against the harsh environment.
There are 2 main reasons for shaving a cat, firstly to help address parasitic or skin problems. This allows for easy application of medication. Secondly, for matted coats which will cause extreme discomfort and can lead to various skin problems. The removal of the fur will allow it to grow back healthier.
Shaving them for any other reasons may lead to them suffering from discomfort, UV rays, depression and skin irritation as their natural protection is removed.
